I started my career in the care industry in 2013 as a support worker. Over the last 10 years I have worked extremely hard to get where I am today and along the way I have been a senior support worker, team leader, field care manager and then taking my first registration in 2017.
I am a responsible Registered Manager, passionate about delivering outstanding quality and service. Offering 10 years of experience in the care industry with a history of recognition for performance. During the pandemic, I feel extremely proud of myself and my teams that we continued to provide exceptional care despite a staffing crisis at times and recruitment struggles that the care industry has all experienced.
I have been involved in team awards throughout my career and have won awards for regional branch manager of the year award in 2020 and one of my schemes I managed won the care team of the year in 2021. In 2022, I also won a recognition award for my support to another area and to other managers.
I am self-motivated to consistently provide first-class results in line with stringent targets and deadlines.
I have worked in the caring profession for over 30 years after being trained in Rugby’s Hospital of St Cross as a Health Care Assistant, before moving to the private sector.
I later became a Registered Care Manager for a period of more than 20 years, managing a total of 8 different Nursing and Residential Care Homes, in and around Rugby. I later became an Operations Manager overseeing a total of 9 Care Homes, both here in Rugby and also in Dorset and Wiltshire.
I have a proven record of management and “hands on” care skills and have a personal philosophy of care which demands that Service Users receive the same care, love and respect that members of our own family would expect; believing strongly that without these three basic values, people who are in care or who are being cared for at home, cannot have the quality of life to which they are entitled.
I have attended many training courses over the years that I have been working in the caring profession, my two highest qualifications accomplished being:
1. Advanced Management in Care
2. City & Guilds NVQ Level 7 in Care.
I have a bright and friendly personality with courteous telephone/verbal skills which makes me very approachable.
